The Hispanic Society of America

The Hispanic Society of America is the most amazing museum that no one has ever heard of. And it is just a smooth ride up Broadway to a pretty Harlem neighborhood full of prep school
boys and old ladies. And this little gem of a museum. It is the collection of one man inspired at the turn of the 20th century to create a collection of hispanic arts.

This famous Goya (The Duchess of Alba) is in the good company of Velazquez and El Greco
iron work over velvet on a 17th century walnut portable Portuguese writing cabinet
unknown painter. I love the twin pink dresses.
carved wood life size statue of a saint with skull
the plaza outside the doors of the museum which is tucked in sideways from the street. the sculptures are by the founders wife.
