The Palace of Fine Arts

In the Marina District of San Francisco there is the old Panama Pacific Exposition building of 1915. An event dedicated to progress and celebrating the completion of the Panama Canal. "ruins" called the Palace of Fine Arts. The original building was only meant to be a temporary structure but it was beloved buy the citizens of SF and so it was created as a permanent structure in 1967.
swans, ducks, herons and other wild life love the pond out front. skunks do too as you can often smell that they have been there

museum goers

enjoying a break at the Rothko

lady in lace

I love this lady. Painted by Kees van Dongen around 1905-06, La chemise noire lives in the SFMoMa which I visited a few weeks ago. I have always loved her. From her comely shape and naughty kit to her grays, pinks and blacks palate she stands quietly at the entrance of the permanent collection of the museum.
so apparently i take all of my photos askew. please forgive

Mondrian

I am absolutely delighted but the peeling tape and how totally disheveled texture of the canvas and tape. So much like people. The further back you stand the clearer the image and the closer the likelier you are to see the grit.
I quite like the reflection of the people in the glass too.

color blocks

This is a great idea for those who don't know what flowers to plant. Group the colors. It is high impact and a refreshing alternative to a dotty mish-mash (which can be delightful too).
