I love this lady. Painted by Kees van Dongen around 1905-06, La chemise noire lives in the SFMoMa which I visited a few weeks ago. I have always loved her. From her comely shape and naughty kit to her grays, pinks and blacks palate she stands quietly at the entrance of the permanent collection of the museum.
