Bouncing back and forth in the design blogs these days are a new found love for Moroccan wedding blankets and now I too am smitten. My friend has a great pillow from ABC made from one and then I found the amazing store L'aviva who has a few too.

It is one of those magical places where you find yourself buying tiny glasses and horse hair flowers because they are just too beautiful to bear. Tail of the Yak has the most stunning collection of 18th and 19th century jewelry and I would like to own and wear every single piece!

my birthday

For my birthday I made a dinner that could have feed 20. And for the ten of us there were leftovers for lunch the next day. As usual I didn't take a single picture of the food. It was a very fin and delicious night.

that is my birthday cake known a Peach Melba but made with nectarines instead and served with raspberry sauce. i topped it with pretty edible pansies and was given a votive candle to blow out. as i had over looked that detail since i made the whole dinner and cake from scratch by myself. which i might not ever do again. especially on ones own birthday.
